ALABAMA TAXPAYERS ARE ALREADY PAYING FOR MEDICAID EXPANSION — JUST NOT IN ALABAMA

Every time an Alabamian pays federal taxes, some of that money goes to other states. That is because the federal government covers 90% of the cost of Medicaid expansion, no matter where you live. That means that our tax dollars are paying for health care for people in Arkansas, California, and Kentucky.

More than a dozen Alabama rural hospitals and health care centers have closed since 2009. Only 1 rural hospital has closed in Arkansas during that same time period. Why are our tax dollars going to pay to keep hospitals open in Arkansas while they continue to close across our state?

Expanding Medicaid will bring our tax dollars home to support hospitals and clinics and keep our neighbors alive and well.
